Mutts Cantina, described as "a modern day 'roadside' burger stand/dog park," is the latest project from Free Range Concepts partners Josh Sepkowitz and Kyle Noonan. You may recognize them from the popular Bowl & Barrel in the Shops at Park Lane, Sunset Lounge on Ross Ave. and the upcoming Rustic, which they are partnering with Grammy-nominated Texas country music singer/songwriter Pat Green.
"The restaurant will be a fun place for people to gather for good food and drink," said co-owner Josh Sepkowitz. "But we want people to know that this is a restaurant first, dog park second. You don't need a dog to come to Mutts."
Mutts is scheduled to open in late May with a prime Uptown location in the spot that was previously the Hank Haney Golf driving range. The new spot will serve burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, shakes, beer, wine and more during lunch and dinner. Breakfast offerings include coffee, breakfast tacos, bagels and pastries. There will also be a private maintained dog park located adjacent to the restaurant that will feature monthly memberships and one-day passes available for purchase.
With Mutts being a truly dog-friendly restaurant, the outdoor seating area that can hold up to 200 people will, according to co-owner Kyle Noonan, "provide Dallas diners with a great place to grab a bite or a cold drink and hang out with their friends whether they have two legs or four."
