It is possible that I write this, the "Despicablimp" is making its way through the skies above Tarrant County. According to an itinerary for the blimp, which is promoting the upcoming release of Despicable Me 2, the blimp took off at 11:15 a.m. Thursday from Dallas Executive Airport, and was scheduled to fly over Cowboy Stadium, Six Flags Over Texas, the Fort Worth Zoo, the Fort Worth Water Gardens and TCU, then make its way north to UNT in Denton before flying eastward over Collin County before coming back for a landing at 3 p.m.
So if you see (or saw) something out of the ordinary in the sky on Thursday, that's what it is/was all about. Of couse, if you saw something out of the ordinary in the sky Thursday and it's not the blimp pictured above, it might be time to worry.
The blimp will also be in the area Friday -- but only flying above Dallas and Collin counties. It'll be flying between about 3 and 9 p.m. Friday.
Despicable Me 2 opens in wide release July 3.
