It has already been an interesting week for Texas Rangers fans as they began the season by getting destroyed 8-2 on national television by the Houston Astros, considered by most Major League Baseball experts to be the worst team in the sport. The Rangers made up for the ominous opening with star pitcher Yu Darvish coming within inches of throwing a perfect game to win the second game 7-0. They followed that near-magical victory with an impressive showing in the rubber game, winning 4-0 behind 10 strikeouts from starter Alexi Ogando.
Now comes the real fun as they return home to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington for the home opener against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and former Rangers MVP Josh Hamilton. This series is drawing such a huge amount of attention that ESPN Radio's long-running national show Mike & Mike in the Morning featuring Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic will be in DFW with a live broadcast from 5-9 a.m. on April 5th from The Owner's Box Sports Bar & Grill at the Omni Dallas Hotel.
After Mike & Mike's show ends, the Owners Box will serve a couple of opening day, ballpark-inspired dishes including Giant Warm Pretzels with Mustard Jalapeño Cheese and Chili Horseradish dips and Ball Park Roasted Peanut Chocolate Nachos, made with chocolate, roasted peanuts, marshmallow, peanut butter and tortilla chips. With the show ending at 9 a.m., it also gives fans ample time to get over to the ballpark in time for the first pitch of the sold out game that is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
Mike & Mike in the Morning is broadcast locally on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM.
