Southern Culture on the Skids at Sons of Hermann Hall
Incredibly, this North Carolina-based trio is cruising past its 25th anniversary and still knocking out tunes steeped in rockabilly, surf rock and punk. Although it's been some years since the band's novelty single Camel Walk made its way up the charts, Southern Culture on the Skids has remained active, touring and recording, with its most recent effort, The Kudzu Ranch, released in 2010. Those attending can expect carefree good times, ever so slightly laced with irony and sporting pointy boots. With Boys Named Sue.
8 p.m. Thursday. Sons of Hermann Hall, Dallas. $15.
