If you missed the March 3 memorial service for Van Cliburn, where former President George w. Bush and Texas Gov. Rick Perry were among those who paid tribute to the Fort Worth pianist who died of bone cancer Feb. 27 at age 78, here are a couple of chance to watch or listen to the moving service.
The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, through an arrangement with the American Federation of Musicians, will make the service available for on-demand streaming on its website from March 25 through March 31. During the service at Broadway Baptist Church, the symphony performed the Adagio movement from Rachmaninoffs Second Symphony, as well as many sacred works with a 300-member chorus.
WRR/101.1 FM will rebroadcast the service from 6 to 8 p.m. March 30.
