Claire
ID #A18824469
Female shih tzu, 9 years old, about 15 pounds, spayed
Miss Claire may be a senior, but she looks and acts more like she's 5 or 6. She was found as a stray and clearly had not been properly cared for in some time. She was very matted and dirty and in need of a visit to the spa! Claire is waiting for a new forever home where they will treat her like the lady she is. Claire was originally adopted from another shelter, so the good news is that she is already spayed and able to go home today; sadly, she was not kept on heartworm-preventive medicine, and now has heartworms. The Humane Society of North Texas is going to do her treatment with her adoption fee. Claire is very clean in her kennel and loves her walks, so she is likely also housetrained. Shih tzus typically live fairly long lives, so with proper care Claire should have at least several good years left with the right family.
The Humane Society of North Texas (1840 E. Lancaster Ave. and 6708 S. Hulen St., Fort Worth, and 363 Keller Parkway, Keller) is open for adoptions seven days a week. For hours and adoption information, call 817-332-4768 or visit www.hsnt.org, where you can also view adoptable animals.
