AUSTIN Maybe it's time for SXSW to dispense with any acknowledgment of boundaries between film, music, TV, and interactive and just call it all SXSW period.
That realization came this year as music, film, and interactive activities increasingly overlap and with the inclusion of so many TV figures in this year's lineup: Andy Cohen, Rachel Maddow, and Lost veteran showrunner Carlton Cuse, who was here today pimping his latest A&E series, Bates Motel starring film actress Vera Farmiga.
While film purists might get rankled, it certainly seems the direction in which we're heading.
