As you know, Dallas icon Larry Hagman died late last year, and now -- spoiler alert! -- his Dallas character, J.R. Ewing, has passed on, too. Monday's episode of Dallas (8 p.m. Central, TNT) will center on J.R.'s funeral, and Southfork Ranch -- forever linked with the show, Hagman and J.R. -- will hold a wake of sorts.
Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings has declared March 11 Larry Hagman Day," and the staff of Southfork is inviting the public to pay tribute to Hagman with a toast (alcoholic or non--alcoholic beverage will be available) in front of the famous mansion.
At the request of Linda Gray, Hagman's friend and co-star on both Dallas series, all participants will be encouraged to join in Hagman's signature toast of "Gong Bong" as they raise their glasses.
Following Mondays episode, Southfork Ranch will be making another special announcement. Hmm.
Admission is $5. Things start at 6:30 p.m. Monday in front of the mansion at Southfork, 3700 Hogge Road in Parker (a few miles east of Plano). Call (972) 442-7800 for more info. Or just go here.
