When the Sid Richardson Museum opened its 30th anniversary exhibition, "Violent Motion: Frederic Remington's Artistry in Bronze," in November, there was an abundance of material. So much was available that curator Rick Stewart had to stage the show in two parts. The second chapter of "Violent Motion" is now open with more sculptures, including two of The Norther.
"Only three casts of The Norther were made, and having two of those casts on loan from private collections is unique," Stewart says. "Such a comparison has never been shown before, to my knowledge."
Eleven of the 22 sculptures that Remington created have been included in this exhibition. It is a great opportunity to see so many of them under one roof. Through June 2, at the Sid Richardson Museum, 309 Main St., Fort Worth. 817-332-6554; www.sidrichardsonmuseum.org
