Details are scant at the moment, but as I first reported earlier today on Twitter: Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic is returning to Billy Bob's Texas for the third straight year.
Although a line-up has yet to be announced, it's a safe bet that Nelson and his band will be headlining, as usual, and two stages will feature a roster of talent pulling heavily from Texas, as has been the case the past two years.
UPDATE: The Austin American-Statesman reports that this year's Picnic will feature Ray Price, Leon Russell, Johnny Bush, David Allan Coe and Ray Wylie Hubbard, as well as Amy Digby, Justin Moore, Paula Nelson, Folk Uke and Lukas Nelson. Additionally, this year's event will be held in the North Forty behind Billy Bob's Texas, which marks a departure from the inside-outside model that's been used the last two years.
A public on-sale date for tickets has yet to be announced, but judging from the listing on Nelson's official website, fan club pre-sale tickets will be available beginning tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. The American-Statesman says admission will be $35 in advance and $55 at the gate.
Stay tuned as we'll have much more information.
