DFW has five clubs make Nightclub & Bar 2013 Top 100 list

Posted 10:37pm on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013

The fifth annual Nightclub & Bar's Top 100 clubs list has been released and DFW has five venues to make the cut in 2013's only revenue-based ranking of nightlife venues. This year's DFW honorees are PLUSH, Billy Bob's Texas, Thrive, Glass Cactus Nightclub and Avenu Lounge.

The Top 100 roster is developed through a program involving primary research and analysis of secondary sources in partnership with Chicago-based hospitality market research firm Technomic Inc. Las Vegas venues dominated the list, earning 21 slots on the 2013 Top 100 roster including seven of the top 10. XS Nightclub inside the Wynn and Marquee in The Cosmopolitan tied for the top spot with revenues topping the $80 million mark.

"We couldn't be happier with the results demonstrating the ongoing growth in the hospitality industry," says Jon Taffer, President of Nightclub & Bar Media Group and Star/Co-Executive Producer of Spike TV's Bar Rescue. "All the venues that made the list are excellent examples of the hard work and dedication that goes into running a high-volume nightclub, bar or lounge."

The three local clubs that made this prestigious list last a year ago all returned with PLUSH in downtown Dallas coming in as the highest ranked club in Texas at No. 26. Billy Bob's Texas in the Fort Worth Stockyards came in 34th overall followed by the Glass Cactus behind the Gaylord Texan on Lake Grapevine in 86th place. DFW's newcomers are Thrive (No. 60) inside the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Elm St. in downtown Dallas and Avenu Lounge (No. 98) on McKinney Ave. in Uptown.

The 2013 Top 100 venues generated $1.5 billion in total revenue. To see the entire 2013 Nightclub & Bar Top 100 list, visit here.
