Polyphonic Spree announces new album

Posted 10:45am on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013

This morning brings news that Tim DeLaughter and his merry band of collaborators have wrapped work on Yes It's True, the Polyphonic Spree's first album in six years (following 2007's The Fragile Army). True will be released May 28 via Good Records, and the band is scheduled to perform at South by Southwest next month.

Yes It's True follows last year's Holidaydream, and DeLaughter says in a statement that the record represents "the band's most unorthodox recording session to date, producing the album in stages." There are no local dates as of yet, but it's all but guaranteed the Spree will play somewhere in DFW to celebrate the new album later this year.

We now have a new, simpler way for you to enter and search for events, at listings.dfw.com. As always, when you submit an event to appear online, it will also be available for us in our print publication. But now you can simply enter your event and provide an email address, rather than creating a separate account and registering. Our new listings tool is still a work in progress, so we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune it. Please contact us at hsvokos@dfw.com if you have any questions or concerns.
