The biggest and brightest stars came out for the 85th Academy Awards, and as usual there was no shortage of high fashion and high drama. Here are our picks for the best and worst of the night.
Best-dressed
Jessica Chastain
After wowing us last year in Alexander McQueen (she was our top pick), the two-time Oscar-nominated actress stole the show for a second year thanks to her custom gold gown by Giorgio Armani.
Charlize Theron
Leaving us (and every guy in the Western Hemisphere) utterly speechless, Theron stepped out in a white strapless Dior gown that had us asking, "Does this woman ever age?"
Amy Adams
No stranger to princessy ball gowns, Adams knocked it out of the park as she strolled the red carpet in a beautiful creation by Oscar de la Renta.
Worst-dressed
Salma Hayek
When your husband owns luxury brands like Alexander McQueen and Gucci, there is certainly no shortage of beautiful gowns to choose from on Oscar night. Or so we thought. One look at Hayek and the only thing that came to mind was a bad version of Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Anne Hathaway
So much potential, so much disappointment is the only way to describe this Prada look. Hathaway's gown had us wondering if she was on her way to the Oscars or junior prom.
Melissa McCarthy
We love McCarthy, which is why it hurts to put her on this list for a second year in a row. But thanks to a gown that draped horribly on her curvy body and a sky-high hairstyle, it was all a miss to us.
Worth mentioning
Jennifer Aniston and Sally Field
We're suckers for color, so it was no surprise that on a red carpet that produced mostly black, nude and white gowns, we jumped for joy when we saw Aniston and Field. Both dazzled in bold red creations by awards-season favorite Valentino.
