Crowley woman to appear on 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire'

Posted 10:04am on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013

Crowley's Amanda Davis sounds like a perfect guest for DFW.com's upcoming Oscar-watching party at the Modern.

Davis, a program specialist for the Fort Worth Library, says she sees about 500 movies every year (when I was a backup movie reviewer for the Star-Telegram, I hovered around 200 a year). She’s even waited in line for more than four hours to see a film. Since the age of 13, Amanda has kept every single movie ticket stub from the films that she has seen (except the one that the movie usher caused her to lose!). She still watches her old VHS tapes and hasn’t upgraded to a Blu-Ray player yet.

All the info about Davis in the preceding paragraph comes from publicity material for Who Wants to be a Millionaire, which -- short-notice alert -- Davis will appear on Wednesday and Thursday (as in Feb. 20-21) when the game show airs at 11:30 a.m. on KXAS/Channel 5. She's part of “ Countdown to the Oscars” Week, where the questions will be movie-themed. If she gets a Star Wars question, she'd better get it right -- she says she's seen each film in the original trilogy at least 100 times.
