Pink at American Airlines Center
Four years after her first headlining tour, multiplatinum pop star Pink returns to North Texas in support of her latest long player, The Truth About Love. Like nearly all of her albums before it, the record has spawned a string of radio smashes, including Blow Me (One Last Kiss) and Try, and the latest single, the Nate Ruess-augmented Just Give Me a Reason, is working its way up the charts. Expect a riotous good time, with plenty of sensory overload -- Pink is fond of Cirque du Soleil-style aerial acrobatics -- and wall-to-wall hits. With the Hives.
8 p.m. Friday. American Airlines Center, Dallas. $39.50-$99.50.
Erykah Badu at Granada Theater
Dallas' grande dame of neo-soul and boundary-pushing R&B turns 42 on Tuesday, and she's throwing a party (or "birthday jammy," if you prefer) to celebrate. Best of all? The whole city of Dallas is invited (well, as many as can safely fit inside the Granada Theater). Badu will perform -- fingers crossed she feels like airing out Baduizm or Mama's Gun in their entirety (she's booked East Coast shows at month's end to do just that) -- and she'll be joined on the bill by her ever-expanding coterie of collaborators for an evening of mind-expanding hip-hop. Birthday candles optional. With the Cannibinoids and RC & the Gritz Band.
7 p.m. Tuesday. Granada Theater, Dallas. $30.
