Last year, when I spoke with head Spune-ster Lance Yocom about his company's 15-year anniversary, he intimated that the Untapped Festival, which sold out its inaugural year in Trinity Groves, just a couple miles from downtown Dallas, would become a potential franchise in the coming years.
The first step in that direction happened today, with the official announcement of the Fort Worth edition of Untapped, set to take place April 20 at Panther Island Pavilion, in downtown Fort Worth. Headliners will include Justin Townes Earle, Deer Tick, Sarah Jaffe and Tennis, with more local acts to be announced in the coming weeks.
In addition to the bands, there will be as-yet-unnamed craft beers and local food trucks to sample on the shores of the Trinity River. Tickets for the event go on sale to the public Thursday via the Untapped Fest website or Spune's site. The full VIP experience will set you back $58, while concert admission and a beer ticket is $30 and a music-only ticket is $22.
Gates open at 2 p.m., and music will get underway at 3.
