Big concert announced for North Texas: Beyonce, fun. and Fall Out Boy

Posted 12:49pm on Monday, Feb. 04, 2013

The year's concert calendar filled out nicely this morning with the announcement of not one, but three sure-to-be hot tickets coming DFW's way over the next few months.

The most anticipated, of course, is Beyonce's tour stop at American Airlines Center on July 6. Coming almost four years to the day after her last Dallas performance, this trip through town is part of the "Mrs. Carter Show World Tour," in support of 2011's studio effort 4. Tickets for the Super Bowl halftime darling's concert (which will set you back anywhere from $48.50 to $253.50) go on sale via Ticketmaster on Feb. 11.

Fall Out Boy ended its four-year hiatus (which saw its various members attempt solo careers to varying degrees of success) Monday with the announcement that the Illinois pop-punk band will release Save Rock and Roll, its first album in five years, on May 7, and will undertake a massive tour which brings them to Dallas' Palladium Ballroom June 6. Tickets for that show go on sale this weekend.

And last, but not least, multiple Grammy nominees fun. will return to North Texas for the third time in less than a year to headline Gexa Energy Pavilion Sept. 11. The pop-rock band will bring with them Canadian sister act Tegan and Sara as openers. Tickets, which range in price from $20 to $39.50, go on sale to the public Feb. 15 via Live Nation.

We now have a new, simpler way for you to enter and search for events, at listings.dfw.com. As always, when you submit an event to appear online, it will also be available for us in our print publication. But now you can simply enter your event and provide an email address, rather than creating a separate account and registering. Our new listings tool is still a work in progress, so we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune it. Please contact us at hsvokos@dfw.com if you have any questions or concerns.
