On Friday, KXT 91.7 FM unveiled the line-up for its second annual Summer Cut: The Happy Funtime Fest, which is set to take over Gexa Energy Pavilion June 1. I knew which bands had been tapped for the fest (see below), but was sworn to secrecy until today. But now, the list can be shared -- and it's a pretty strong collection of bands, almost evenly split between national and local acts (certainly moreso than last year).
Headlining the Summer Cut is the Avett Brothers, along with Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, Matt & Kim, perennial NTX fest faves Dawes, Hayes Carll and Milo Greene. Representing local talent is Oil Boom, the Roomsounds, RTB2, the Orbans and Fate Lions. Tickets for the day-long fest are on sale next Friday at 10 a.m., via Live Nation, and starting Tuesday, VIP tickets will be available via KXT's website.
And in case you missed it, here's the promo KXT released earlier this week, teasing the line-up with a handful of local folks (myself and my painfully limited acting skills included).
