Kelly Clarkson to perform benefit in North Texas

Posted 10:22am on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013

As I first reported on Twitter Wednesday, Kelly Clarkson's coming back to North Texas for a hometown-ish gig March 1 at Grand Prairie's Verizon Theatre.

Although she's already been through town in support of her latest, Grammy-nominated LP Stronger, Clarkson's returning for a benefit performance, aimed at helping the Omaha, Neb.-based Opportunity Education Foundation. The organization's goals include bringing "quality education to less advantaged children."

Tickets for the show, which run from $44.25 up to $154.75, are on sale now, via axs.com.

We now have a new, simpler way for you to enter and search for events, at listings.dfw.com. As always, when you submit an event to appear online, it will also be available for us in our print publication. But now you can simply enter your event and provide an email address, rather than creating a separate account and registering. Our new listings tool is still a work in progress, so we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune it. Please contact us at hsvokos@dfw.com if you have any questions or concerns.
