The Scat Jazz Lounge marks its fifth anniversary this week, with a celebratory show set for 8 p.m. Thursday. The free gig, augmented by drink specials, will feature ace saxophonist Shelley Carrol, along with what Scat promises will be "other top performers who have graced the Scat stage over the past five years."
Opposites do attract, if the lineup for Wednesday's free show at the Basement Bar is any indication: the Cleanup will join Jacob Furr & the Only Road and Spiderfriends, beginning at 8 p.m.
Fort Worth trio Abandon City (guitarist/vocalist Jeff Stark, bassist/vocalist Chris Brockhan and drummer Kevin Geist) will celebrate the release of its self-titled, debut full-length album at 10 p.m. Saturday at the Grotto. Goodwin will round out the bill and a mere $10 gets you in the door.
