So You Think You Can Dance has held a couple of Dallas casting calls in recent years, but if you want to audition this year, it'll take a road trip.

The Texas auditions will be Friday, Jan. 18, and Saturday, Jan. 19, at The Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Center for the Performing Arts, 701 W. Riverside Drive in Austin.
If you plan to drive from DFW, I'd advise leaving on Jan. 17 and getting a motel/hotel where you can get some sleep, because the Jan. 18 auditions begin at 6 a.m. (my story on last year's Dallas auditions has vanished into the ether, but I recall getting their very early on one of the coldest days of the winter and talking to people who'd been there since the previous evening).
The Friday auditions will take place in front of producers. Saturday callbacks will be in front of SYTYCD udges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy, as well as a to-be-determined guest judge. Host Cat Deeley might also make an appearance.
