Blue Mesa Grill announces 'Texas Best Showcase' in 2013

Posted 4:38pm on Wednesday, Jan. 02, 2013

Blue Mesa Grill announced in its monthly e-mail blast to "Chileheads" that beginning in January, it will launch the Texas Best Showcase at all locations. The showcase will offer a series of guest chef tasting menus from DFW chefs, each consisting of entirely new menu items, scheduled five months throughout the year.

The Showcase will be coordinated by Sharon Hage of Dallas' late, lamented York Street, and it's heavy on chefs from the 'D' side of DFW, starting off with Jeffrey Hobbs of The Porch, who will present a Texas Artisan Cheese and Olive Oil menu from Jan. 10 through Feb. 10. The menu starts with Pure Luck Chipotle Chevre with Tassione Farms mixed reens, candied pecans, Texas Ruby Red grapefruit and Texas olive oil. For other items, click the link.

The tasting menus will feature in-season food that is grown and harvested in Texas, and will be a series of small plates that can be enjoyed as an appetizer or a side dish. Other participating chefs (dates TBA) include Jeff Harris and Matt Balke from Bolsa and Bolsa Mercado, Joanne Bondy of Old Hickory Steakhouse at the Gaylord Texan, Brian Luscher of The Grape. Sharon Hage will also do her own tasting menu.
