Probably should have seen something like this coming, given the big staff cuts in 2012, but KKDA/730 AM "Soul 73", which went on the air in 1969 and has been airing an R&B format since 1970, has been sold.
If you visit KKDA-AM's website, you get a terse message saying that the sale is final, and that nothing can be changed, but you can still make your feelings about the switch known by calling (972) 647-5090.
This being a holiday, details are a little sketchy, but national radio-watching guru Tom Taylor informs me that Service Broadcasting sold the station to SKR Partners. Judging from only a few moments of listening, the format is an Asian-language format, which is a pretty broad way of saying that I don't know the specific language. UPDATE: It's Korean, specifically Dallas Korean Radio, as was recently posted on the Dallas RadioDiscussion.com board.
Service Broadcasting still owns KKDA/104.5 FM "K104" and KRNB/105.7 FM.
I hope to have more on this on Wednesday.
