The Dallas Mavericks Dancers season began in mid-July at Gilley's Dallas with close to 250 women on hand for the preliminary auditions. The remaining 54 returned the following day for the finals auditions. Forty candidates survived for a four-day training camp, which involved learning new dance routines and going through interviews with director Mallory Mills and Mavs front office personnel. It all culminated with the announcement of the 2012-13 final roster.

The new look-Mavs have struggled on the court with the loss of superstar Dirk Nowitzki to a knee injury and the departures of Jason Kidd and Jason Terry. They added forward Elton Brand, center Chris Kaman, point guard Darren Collison and shooting guard O.J. Mayo. Meanwhile, the Mavs Dancers have excelled on the court, gaining attention for their new uniforms including a segment on Inside Edition that called the outfits "a home-court victory for the Mavericks dancers." The Mavs Dancers have also been busy off the court as they visited China, Spain and Germany and launched their own official DMD Twitter accounts to engage with fans.

The latest news on the Mavs Dancers front comes with the release of their ninth annual calendar. The 2013 Dallas Mavericks Dancers Calendar is now available for $7.99 at the Ultimate Fanshop at NorthPark Center, American Airlines Center fan shops and online at mavgear.com.
