The newest BoomerJack's Grill & Bar has opened in the spot that previously housed the Hoffbrau Steakhouse in the massive Arlington Highlands shopping center at I-20 between Matlock and Collins. On the heels of the success of the North Arlington location in Lincoln Square, it only makes sense that BoomerJack's would open its fourth Tarrant County locale 15 minutes south of Cowboys Stadium and Rangers Ballpark.
Each of the BoomerJack's has its own identity: Bedford with its huge patio area, Fort Worth's West 7th location inside Montgomery Plaza is a more intimate setting with an indoor/outdoor bar and Lincoln Square's two covered patio areas with couches surrounding the bar and restaurant area. The latest edition in South Arlington has a patio area with heaters and TVs and also features an upstairs area inside.
One thing they all have in common is the consistency of the good food, which includes wings, burgers, fajitas, chicken fried chicken, wraps, soups and salads. My favorite on the menu is the Cowtown Steak Fingers, chicken fried steak strips served with fries and gravy. There is also a new lunch menu featuring 10 items ranging from $5.99 to $7.99.
On our first visit, we sat inside on the lower level with a perfect view of two huge TVs that could both be split into four smaller screens with either side flanked by multiple flatscreens along the walls. Since we were watching the Dallas Cowboys game, we had a great spot to watch our game and keep an eye on other NFL action. The next time we dropped in to watch the Dallas Mavericks and grabbed a seat on the patio to enjoy the picturesque Texas winter weather.
