The Dallas Stars Ice Girls unveiled their second annual calendar on Thursday, Dec. 6, with a celebration inside the Hard Rock Cafe in Victory Park. Although the NHL is currently in a labor dispute that has delayed the start of the season, hockey fans from across DFW packed the restaurant, which is located mere steps from the Dallas Stars home ice at American Airlines Center.
The night began with the Stars new P.A. announcer Jeff K introducing the Ice Girls squad and each of the ladies walked across the stage to cheers from the capacity crowd. Later, the ladies walked around the room and signed calendars for those in attendance. The FOX Sports Southwest Girls Kaime and Liddy were also on hand for the big party, interviewing Ice Girls and fans.
Dallas Stars memorabilia was given away throughout the evening with drawings and entertainment was provided by the team's new music director, DJ Whiz T. A big highlight for the crowd was when Stars legend Mike Modano made an appearance for a Q&A and to give away a suite to an upcoming Allen Americans hockey game. Modano, along with Stars greats Ed Belfour, Craig Ludwig and Richard Matvichuk, joined Dallas' Central Hockey League AA affiliate as minority owners this past summer.
