Zak and Trudy
Male, black Labrador retriever, 6 months old; about 35 pounds
Female, chocolate Lab, 2 1/2 years old; about 65 pounds
ID# A17922833 and #A17922847
Zak and Trudy came to the Humane Society recently after their very young owner tragically passed away in a car accident. The owner's family tried to keep the two together after her death but were unable to care for these best friends any longer. Both dogs are fixed, current on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
They love to play with other dogs and get along great with cats. They are both potty- and crate-trained and know several commands, and do well on walks. Trudy is an athlete and loves her exercise, and Zak is an awesome retriever who loves chew toys and napping in his crate.
Trudy is more outgoing, and Zak depends on her to feel safe and comfortable. They are not siblings but you would never know it by the way they stick together like twins. Staffers would love to see these two find a home together, as their background is heartbreaking and their love of life -- and everyone they meet -- knows no bounds.
Please open your heart to these two sweet dogs and give them a chance to grow old together, like their owner would have wanted.
