As I noted on Twitter earlier today, Fort Worth duo Pinkish Black has signed with the California and Germany-based Century Media Records.
As first reported by fan site Metal Underground, the label was a big fan of Pinkish Black's debut LP, released earlier this year: "Pinkish Black's last, self-titled album, released on Handmade Birds, featured seven tracks of dark, intense and at times, haunting songs," the label said in a statement. "As one of the heaviest bands of late to feature no stringed instruments, Pinkish Black uses aura and emotions to attain what other bands (and a lot of Orange Amps and down-tuned guitars) fail to do. The band is currently touring and working on a new record, expected to be recorded by the end of the year."
The Dallas Observer reports the duo will be recording with Matthew Barnhart, at Denton's the Echo Lab. Pinkish Black will perform at Lola's Saloon Saturday, and again on Dec. 8.
