Southlake-based Del Frisco Restaurant Group will open a second restaurant in downtown Fort Worth next year.
The company said Monday that it will open a two-story, 9,000-square-foot Del Friscos Grille with a large patio at 420 Commerce St. It also operates Del Friscos Double Eagle Steak House at Eighth and Main streets.
"We have enjoyed great success already in Fort Worth with our Del Friscos Double Eagle Steak House on Main Street and we are grateful to our loyal guests whom we look forward to seeing so often," said Mark Mednansky, CEO of Del Friscos Restaurant Group. "We hope our friends in Fort Worth embrace Del Friscos Grille, too."
The menu at Del Friscos Grille takes the traditional bar and grill to new heights, using bold flavors, regional ingredients and local flair in many of its dishes, the company said.
Earlier this year, Del Friscos Grille was honored by Nations Restaurant News as the winner of the 18th annual Hot Concepts Award. In New York, the Del Friscos Grille in Rockefeller Center was distinguished by the New York City Association of Hotel Concierges and named the winner of the 2012 Concierge Choice Award for "Casual Dining," an award given to those who create exceptional experiences for New York City visitors.
The Fort Worth location will be in the Commerce Building, one of three new buildings going up in Sundance Square, the 35-block retail, office, residential and entertainment district.
Del Friscos Grille is the first restaurant to sign a lease in the new plaza in Sundance Square, said CEO Johnny Campbell.
"This is the first of many announcements we will have in the next few months about retail and restaurants in the plaza," Campbell said.
Del Friscos Grille is also in Washington DC, Dallas, Atlanta, and Phoenix, with additional sites planned for Santa Monica, Houston and Boston next year, the company said.
Del Frisco's Grille opened a Dallas location late last year. Check out DFW.com contributor Andrew Marton's review here.
