"Dallas" cast members will be in Fort Worth for the AAA Texas 500

Posted 7:14pm on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012

Since the first season of Dallas on TNT featured several scenes at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, it is only natural that several episodes in the upcoming second season will be shot at Texas Motor Speedway. The cast, which has been in and around the 1.5-mile speedway, will serve as grand marshals and give the command to start the AAA Texas 500 -- the eighth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup -- in Fort Worth.

"It is a natural for 'Dallas' to have a presence at the largest sports venue in the great state of Texas," Dallas producer Ken Topolsky said. "The cast is excited about playing such a visible role during the AAA Texas 500. This is going to be fun for everybody.

Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo along with original "Dallas" stars Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray and Larry Hagman will all appear either in person at the pre-race stage or via video prior to the race. Anita Perry, wife of Texas Governor Rick Perry, will serve as the honorary starter and wave the green flag

"As a fan of both the original series and the new one, it is great to work with the cast of the show," Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage said. "I've seen every episode and Ken and his team have done a wonderful job of weaving the story tying in the original cast with the new cast. I was fortunate to attend the world premiere in Dallas last fall and I'm looking forward to them shooting here this year. People around the world know the TV show, 'Dallas,' and they know Texas Motor Speedway. This is big."

Dallas' second season, currently filming in the DFW area, begins on TNT on January 28th. Tickets are available for the AAA Texas 500 by contacting the TMS ticket office at (817) 215-8500 or visiting here.
