Posted 11:15am on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012

Deanna Dewberry, who recently joined NBC 5, will be the station's new consumer/investigative reporter and will anchor the 6:30 p.m. weeknight newscast on digital channel 5.2, the station announced Tuesday. As you'll see below, she has her own story to tell, and it's a moving one.

Scott Friedman, who left NBC 5's morning newscast several months ago to head the station's investigative team, will continue in that role, with Dewberry focusing on issues important to DFW consumers.

Dewberry was most recently at WISH-TV in Indianapolis, where she spent nearly eight years as an anchor/investigative reporter. She has also worked in Little Rock, Lubbock and DFW, where she worked as an anchor/reporter at Texas Cable News and WFAA/Channel 8. Here farewell to her Indianapolis viewers is here. Here's a farewell from her WISH colleagues.
