Lone Star Film Fest announces more titles

Posted 4:32pm on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012

The full, uncut version of Michael Cimono's controversial 1980 Heaven's Gate, the rarely seen 2006 cult horror film All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, and the equally little-seen 1987 martial-arts film Miami Connection have been added to the lineup for Fort Worth's Lone Star International Film Festival, running Nov. 7-11. They will be part of an overlooked classics series the festival is launching this year.

Other new films added to the schedule include 28 Hotel Rooms, about a couple's affair turning into something more serious; America's Parking Lot, a documentary about fans of the Dallas Cowboys; Far Marfa, about a man's brush with crime in far West Texas; Leviathan, a documentary about fisherman and sea life from director Lucien Castaing-Taylor (Sweetgrass) and Verena Paravel (Foreign Parts); the horror parody Saturday Morning Massacre.

Festival organizers announced 12 of the bigger titles, including Silver Linings Playbook, starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, and Jayne Mansfield's Car , starring Billy Bob Thornton, last week.
