Art Garfunkel cancels Bass Hall show

Posted 3:53pm on Thursday, Oct. 04, 2012

Just in: Art Garfunkel has canceled his Nov. 30 performance at Bass Hall.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer's hand was forced by his slow recovery from a weakened vocal cord, first discovered by doctors in 2010. The tour was intended to support the just-released compilation The Singer, for which Garfunkel recorded two new songs earlier this year. "I had such hopes of being finally ready to perform," Garfunkel said in a statement. "How painful to try and not be quite yet there."

Refunds for the show are available through Bass Hall's box office, or by calling 817-212-4280.

We now have a new, simpler way for you to enter and search for events, at listings.dfw.com. As always, when you submit an event to appear online, it will also be available for us in our print publication. But now you can simply enter your event and provide an email address, rather than creating a separate account and registering. Our new listings tool is still a work in progress, so we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune it. Please contact us at hsvokos@dfw.com if you have any questions or concerns.
