Restored 'Lawrence of Arabia' screening tonight

Posted 1:19pm on Thursday, Oct. 04, 2012

As content becomes ever more mobile and reduced to the size of our smartphone screens, it's easy to forget how visceral it can be seeing films, particularly those with a heft and scope of classic Hollywood, projected on a large screen. One such classic, Lawrence of Arabia, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and Sony Pictures is rolling out a deluxe Blu-ray box set to mark the occasion in November.

But tonight, at several area movie theaters, Fathom Events is hosting a one-night-only screening of a newly restored digital print of Arabia. Get tickets and more info here, and check out the specially created trailer below.

We now have a new, simpler way for you to enter and search for events, at listings.dfw.com. As always, when you submit an event to appear online, it will also be available for us in our print publication. But now you can simply enter your event and provide an email address, rather than creating a separate account and registering. Our new listings tool is still a work in progress, so we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune it. Please contact us at hsvokos@dfw.com if you have any questions or concerns.
