With the news this week that former Arlington Lamar football player Sean Lowe would be the next Bachelor, and recent announcements that Top Chef Seattle will feature John Tesar and two other Dallas chefs, and that Fort Worth chef Tim Love will compete on Next Iron Chef -- well, we're reminded once again just how much reality TV loves people from DFW.
But it's not just that North Texans appear often on reality TV -- that's something a lot of populous areas can claim -- it's that they tend to do well that inspired this list of Top 50 DFW reality TV stars. Many who appear on competition shows make it to the finales; several have won. Of course, North Texans do tend to have big personalities, and a few noncompetitive shows have taken advantage of that.
The loose criteria for our list was based on such elements as popularity of the show, how well the person performed on the show, and what that person has done afterward. And like all lists, it's subject to disagreement. But hey, that's what comment sections are for.
