Posted 10:54am on Thursday, Sep. 27, 2012

The Doctors, the syndicated medical-talk/advice show that airs at 2 p.m. weekdays on KTVT/Channel 11, has been filming in DFW this week, visiting such places at Cowboys Stadium and Southfork Ranch and other spots to tape episodes that will air as early as late October and as long-range as next spring.

Not all of the events have been open to the public, but there's a big, free one that is on Saturday at Stonebriar Center in Frisco. KRLD/1080 AM is hosting the event, which fill feature Doctors co-hosts Travis Stork (the ER physician), Lisa Masterson (the OB/GYN), Andrew Ordon (the plastic/reconstructive surgeon) and James Sears (the pediatrician). Read more about them here.

The Doctors stars will participate in a panel discussion on a recent survey placing Dallas/Fort Worth among the heaviest cities in America and will show residents how to take charge of their health and curb the tide of obesity-related illnesses. Fitness expert Larry North will moderate.

The panel discussion will take place at 11 a.m. at the Nordstrom Court at Stonebriar, which is at the crossroads of Texas 121 and Texas 289 (aka Preston Road) in Frisco. AQ&A will follow. KRLD newsman Mitch Carr will kick things off as health and wellness presentations begin at 10:30 a.m.
