Ahead of a pair of Texas shows (tonight in Austin, tomorrow in Houston) and a Saturday show in Thackerville, OK (in lieu of a DFW date), singer-songwriter Fiona Apple has been arrested in Sierra Blanca.
If the name of that town sounds familiar, it's because Willie Nelson and Snoop Do -- err, Lion were also recently nabbed by authorities in the west Texas burg. According to various reports, the 35-year-old Apple was arrested for possession of hash, and the status of her next few concerts (Saturday's concert is, as of this writing, not quite sold out) is unknown at this point. Needless to say, the story is developing, so stay tuned ...
UPDATE: Just off the phone with a WinStar World Casino spokesperson, who confirms that, as of 12 p.m. today, Fiona Apple's Saturday show is still happening. Depending on the day's events, that could change, but for now, her tour is undeterred by the singer's arrest. More info as I have it.
UPDATE 2: The Associated Press checks in with a few new details.
