Instagram contest! You could win a $100 gift card to any biz in Sundance Square

Posted 4:25pm on Wednesday, Sep. 19, 2012

UPDATE: The deadline for this contest has passed! But you can look for our favorite entries next week on DFW.com!

You know all those cool, funky, artsy Instagram shots you take? We want 'em. Specifically, we want your shots from the opening weekend of the State Fair of Texas. Our favorites will not only appear online and in an upcoming issue of DFW.com Ink, but the top picks will score some prize-age. (Details below.)

Here's how to enter to win:

1. Get out your smartphone and follow us on Instagram; our handle is dfw_com. IMPORTANT: You've got to be following us to be eligible to win.

2. Take your best state fair photos -- fried food, carnival rides, cotton candy, goats, piglets, ginormous turkey legs -- anything you want, as long as it's at the fair during opening weekend, starting Sept. 28.

3. Once you've taken your ultimate fair photo, we need you to tag it so we can find it: use #DFWgram as your tag.

We'll choose a grand prize winner, runners-up and some honorable mentions that may be featured in an upcoming issue of DFW.com Ink.

What you win: The grand prize, courtesy of Sundance Square, is a $100 gift certificate that can be used at any official Sundance Square establishment; that means eateries like Daddy Jack's, Reata and the Cupcakery, or entertainment venues like Four Day Weekend or Scat Jazz Lounge, or shopping at places like Earth Bones and the Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop. A few runners-up will win a DFW.com swag bag with some goodies in it.

Deadline: You must take and tag your Instagram photos by noon on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Winners will be notified. McClatchy employees and their families are not eligible to win.
