The Mike Modano Foundation is hosting the special gala Shoot for the Stars on September 8 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center in Frisco. The title sponsor of the gala is jcpenney with all proceeds benefiting City House, which provides shelter and transitional living services to children and young adults who are in need due to abuse, neglect or homelessness.
Local celebrities confirmed to attend include Dallas Stars legends Mike Modano and Brett Hull, Stars captain Brendan Morrow, former Dallas Cowboys Charles Haley, Drew Pearson and Tony Dorsett, Dallas Mavericks President of Basketball Operations Donnie Nelson, former Texas Rangers Rusty Greer and Mark McLemore, former Stars and current minority owners of the Allen Americans, Craig Ludwig and Richard Matvichuk and Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket's Corby Davidson, Dan McDowell and Bob Sturm. Liz Johnson is the event chair while WFAA's Dale Hansen and Stars broadcaster Ralph Strangis will serve as the emcees for the evening with music provided by Emerald City.
"City House is the reason we are doing this," said Mike Modano, the honorary chair of the event. "Last year there were nearly 67,000 confirmed cases of child abuse and neglect in our state and nearly 17,000 right here in North Texas. City House exists to provide food, shelter and most of all, hope. We hope that many of our neighbors will come out and enjoy a great evening for a good cause."
VIP sponsorship tables seated with a local celebrity are available as well regular tables and individual seat tickets at MikeModano.com and CityHouse.org. For further information, contact Chey Reynolds at (214) 766-3867.
