"Catch Me If You Can," the Broadway musical based on the hit film about a man who fakes his way through life, opens the Dallas Summer Musicals' 2013 season with a February run at the Music Hall in Dallas' Fair Park. The production runs Feb. 12-24, 2013.
The rest of the season includes:
"Disney and Cameron Mackintosh Present Mary Poppins" (March 20-30, 2013): The popular stage show returns with new musical numbers and production touches.
"Wicked, The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz" (April 10-May 5, 2013): A prequel of sorts, this "Wicked" tells the story of the witches before Dorothy showed up.
"Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" (May 14-26, 2013): The hit Australian film about a group of men who dress in drag and sing their way across the Outback gets the stage treatment.
"Sister Act: A Divine Musical Comedy" (June 4-16, 2013): Oscar winner Alan Menken wrote the tunes for this musical about the woman who finds refuge, and much more, in a convent.
"Flashdance the Musical" (June 25-July 7, 2013): This take on the film about a woman who dreams of being a dancer is directed by Sergio Trujillo of "Jersey Boys" and "Memphis" fame.
"Disney Presents The Lion King" (Oct. 2-20, 2013): This will be the production on stage during the run of the Texas State Fair.
There will also be a presentation of "White Christmas" in December 2013.
