The University of Texas at Arlington has announced the lineup for its 2012-'13 Mavericks Speakers Series, which will kick off Sept. 25 with a lecture by sportswriter/novelist Frank Deford. Deford's talk, titled "Journalism: Sports and Beyond," will take place at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at UT-Arlington's Texas Hall.
Also on the schedule:
Cokie Roberts, political commentator for ABC News and National Public Radio, who will give "An Insider's View of Washington D.C." on Oct 4 at Texas Hall.
Seth Meyers, head writer and "Weekend Update" anchor for Saturday Night Live. Meyers will do his thing Nov. 19 at College Park Center.
Astronaut Mark Kelly, who will discuss "Endeavoring to Build a Better America" on Feb. 19 at Texas Hall.
TV personality and nature conservationist Jeff Corwin, who will give a talk titled “100 Heartbeats: A Global Movement” on March 27 at College Park Center.
