DALLAS -- The NYLO Dallas South Side boutique hotel opened its doors this past Monday as the third NYLO property in DFW joining the Las Colinas and Plano at Legacy locations. Dallas' newest hotel is located in the building that was constructed in 1910, and previously housed the Dallas Coffin Company, next door to the South Side on Lamar lofts and just south of Gilley's Dallas.
The contemporary vibe is evident upon entry as work from local artists is prevalent throughout the building. NYLO held a competition this past spring offering local artists the opportunity to contribute to the hotel's decor. The lobby includes the Library Lounge with a flat screen and pool tables and the Terrace Bistro, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with the capability to host private dinners and meetings.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the Soda Bar, complete with its rooftop patio and infinity pool with an amazing panoramic backdrop of the Dallas skyline. The Soda Bar is 4,500 square feet and features a happy hour Monday-Friday with $4 domestic bottles, $5 drafts, $6 house wine and 25 percent off small plates from its grill.
While this new spot is destined to be popular with the DFW crowd, it is in fact a hotel, and offers packages such as the Dallas Texas Celebrity Package, which includes a $100 gift certificate to Neiman Marcus, a bottle of champagne and other "cosmopolitan" items.
