Angelika Film Centers to screen 1978 Stones concert film shot in Fort Worth

The Angelika Film Centers in Dallas and Plano will have a special screening of The Rolling Stones -- Some Girls, Live in Texas at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Plano and 7:30 the same night in Dallas.

The movie, filmed in 16mm 1978 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, has been restored and remixed for high-def presentation. It also features an interview shot last year with Mick Jagger, who introduces the film and has some memories about the concert.

"Fort Worth was an amazing night in a blistering hot July," Jagger says (all the Julys in Fort Worth are blistering hot, Mick). "Watching it now, the band were really intense and focused, but we were also having a blast with the fans who were really getting into the show and the new tracks from Some Girls."

The movie features classic pre-Some Girls tracks, of course, but for a taste, here's one of my favorite songs off the album itself.
