DFW.com's 2012 Hot Issue: it's sizzle time!

Last summer was a DFW inferno. With 71 days of 100-degree heat -- many of them topping 105 -- Mother Nature melted records and took a blowtorch to our sanity.

By comparison, summer 2012 has been downright comfortable. We didn't hit triple digits until June 24, and we haven't had to endure day after day of 105-degree heat until, well, now.

Which makes the arrival of our annual Hot Issue right on time.

We'll help you escape the August sizzle by taking you poolside with some of DFW's coolest personalities, all of whom have smokin' hot bods.

You'll take a dip with Miss Dallas and sip a cocktail with a sexy morning-show host. You'll meet football stars, a Football Wife and a Friday Night Lights regular. You'll even expand your mind with an accountant, a lawyer and an orthobiologics specialist (don't worry, we'll explain). And we've even got two returning favorites from last year's Hot Issue.

So, as our most famous model might say: "Get your popcorn ready." It's time to dive into DFW.com's 2012 Hot Issue.

Terrell Owens

Better known as T.O., the six-time Pro Bowler and future Hall of Fame receiver played in the NFL from 1996 to 2010, including three seasons (2006-08) with the Dallas Cowboys. He set records and made headlines, both for his play and his personality. He missed the 2011 season to recover from a knee injury before joining the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League as player and co-owner. But he was released by the team May 29, and now the 38-year-old is hoping to get another shot with an NFL team.

As he waits, Owens is laying the foundation for what he hopes will be a career in Hollywood. He has already appeared in movies (Oliver Stone's Any Given Sunday) and starred in two reality-TV series ( The T.O. Show on VH1 and The T.Ocho Show on Versus, with fellow receiver Chad Ochocinco). Next up, Owens will guest-star in the upcoming season of Necessary Roughness on the USA Network. And if he gets his wish, he'll be back on an NFL roster before the 2012 season begins.

Current city: Splits time between Los Angeles and Dallas

Birthday: Dec. 7

Day job: NFL free agent wide receiver, actor. I just finished a film last summer called Dysfunctional Friends.

Dream job: Doing a blockbuster film with the likes of Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx or Will Smith. They find a way to draw you in and captivate you. I have taken a few baby steps in acting, but I definitely want to continue my NFL career for a couple more years, and we will see what happens after that.

My favorite place in DFW to hang out: Village Burger Bar in West Village. Those turkey burgers are to die for. When I played here, we had some charity stuff going on with the Village Burger Bar donating $100 for every touchdown I scored.

Does a girl who does NOT look like a supermodel have a realistic chance to go out with you? Of course. I think that's the stereotype for guys like myself or anyone that is famous for that matter, that we are always looking for the model type or someone else that is famous. It really depends on the person. You do not have to have a celebrity status to gain my attention. I'm flexible. I don't discriminate.

Favorite movie? The Notebook with Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. It seems kind of odd, but that is my favorite movie. I also really enjoyed The Book of Eli starring Denzel Washington.

Ideal place for a summer vacation: I liked Cabo (that was kind of like my place to get away right before the season). The new place that's on my list is Bora Bora.

Favorite junk food: Snickers, Twix and popcorn

Hobbies: Bowling, playing cards, dominos, going to the movies, board games -- anything involving good friends.

Best summer cocktail: Not a big drinker, but I did have a drink at my buddy's club in New York City, called Provocateur, ... called the Teddy Bear. It's like a mojito type of drink and it is delicious.

Where might we see you on a hot summer afternoon in DFW? Working out.

Talk about your Catch a Dream Foundation. Over the years, I established the foundation to raise money for disadvantaged families in the community wherever I was playing, including the three years I was here in Dallas. We helped families around Christmastime that could not afford to get gifts for kids. It was always good to see the smiles on not only the kids' but the moms' and dads' faces considering that they never really knew how their holidays were going to turn out.

Hannah Wright

Born: Texarkana

Birthday: Oct. 28

Day job: Accountant. Numbers have always come easy for me, and accounting is basically my niche.

You may recognize her from ... Promotional modeling for Anheuser-Busch at DFW events such as the NASCAR races at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, golf tournaments and other big events.

Interesting fact: At age 7, she appeared in a television commercial for a book store.

What's in your purse right now that no one would believe? The most random thing is probably hair-cutting shears.

Dawn Neufeld

You may recognize her from ... VH1's Football Wives. She is also the reigning Mrs. Frisco.

Interesting fact: Her first child, Will, has been diagnosed with symptoms of autism. She and her husband, former Dallas Cowboys tight end Ryan Neufeld, work closely with Autism Speaks to promote awareness.

Day job: Attorney, television personality

Dream job: Hosting a talk show. I love interviewing people and discussing hot topics.

Does a guy who is not rich and famous have a realistic chance to go out with you? When I met my husband [at UCLA], he was neither rich nor famous, but he was hot! I knew he had plenty of potential to be rich and famous, so I stuck by him through the thick and thin. My perseverance paid off.

What is the worst way for a guy to approach you? If he's drunk and slurring his words, he's whack. Bye!

Fantasy date: That's easy -- Josh Duhamel. Someone ask Fergie if I can borrow him for a bit. I will give him back.

Favorite TV show: Suits on USA Network, followed closely by Grey's Anatomy

Favorite sports team and favorite player: My favorite team used to be whoever was paying my husband [he's retired after seven NFL seasons]. Now, we cheer for the hometown Dallas Cowboys. We know a lot of athletes, so it's hard to pick one, but if I have to choose, I'll go with [Cowboys tight end] Jason Witten.

Favorite movie that made you laugh: Recently, it was Magic Mike.

Favorite movie that made you cry: I watched a documentary recently about 9/11. I was sobbing. But my favorite movie that made me cry: Pride & Prejudice.

Ideal spot for a summer vacation: An Italian villa. I would take day trips and overnight trips to make sure I see everything.

Favorite guilty-pleasure food: Fried chicken

Hobbies: Sleeping, going to the movies, photography, rollerblading, competing in pageants, traveling

What's in your purse right now that no one would believe? Ten different kinds of lip balm. I'm obsessed.

Part of summer wardrobe I hate to put away: My flip-flops. But I don't mind trading them in for Uggs.

Where might we see you on a hot summer afternoon? Lounging in the pool with my kids, Will and Bryn.

Best hot summer memory: Covering the Dallas Mavericks on their road to the championship. Someone tell Mark Cuban to call me -- I'm his next host for the Mavs!

What are you looking forward to this fall when it cools off? My husband and I are chairs for the Pegasus Ball at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Dallas on Sept. 8. It benefits the Autism Treatment Center.

Glenn Pakulak

There are times where I just don't connect to the most gorgeous girl, but then there are times where there is just something about someone that drives you CRAZY regardless how good-looking they are.

What's your perfect night out? Dinner at an awesome Italian restaurant, a great concert, maybe the Graham Colton Band, and then a quick stop at Albertsons for a half-gallon of ice cream and wine to take back to the house.

What do you do to stay cool during this scorching summer? The polar opposite of what someone would do to stay cool in Dallas: I run 6 miles on the Katy Trail at least once a day.

If you could go anywhere in the world for a summer vacation, where would it be? I'm dying to go to Monaco, especially when F1 races are there.

Best part of your summer wardrobe that you hate to put away after Labor Day? I'll keep my swimsuit out into the fall for as long as I can, so that leaves me saying goodbye to my white pants and linen suits post-Labor Day.

Best summer patio in DFW? Mine! We live on a golf course and 200 yards from the lake, so we rarely leave our own patio for another.

Best summer cocktail? Frozen sangria

Best hot summer memory? I got engaged last summer and married this summer. Those will be hard to beat!

Christina Entsminger

Best hot summer memory? Last summer, I went overseas to model in England (temps in the 70s, rainy, overcast). One of the best memories was seeing the skyline when you flew in.
