Emmitt Smith cast in 'Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars'

ABC announced the cast for the upcoming All-Stars season of Dancing With the Stars today, and it includes a former Dallas Cowboy and a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.

Cowboys great Emmitt Smith, who won the show in 2006, will return to take on a cast that features Kirstie Alley, Pamela Anderson, race-car driver Helio Castroneves, singer-actor Joey Fatone, gymnast Shawn Johnson, singer Drew Lachey, actor Gilles Marini, soap star Kelly Monaco, Olympic skater Apolo Anton Ohno, Bristol Palin, and Melissa Rycroft.

For the uninitiated, here's an edited version of Rycroft's story excerpted from a post about Melissa & Tye, Rycroft's CMT reality show:

"Rycroft, a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, appeared on The Bachelor, where she was chosen by Bachelor Jason Mesnick, only to be dumped by Mesnick in an infamous post-season After the Final Rose in which Mesnick changed his mind, revoked his proposal, and said he wanted to be with contestant Molly Malaney instead. Rycroft went on to appear on Dancing With the Stars, coming in third during DWTS' eighth season. Rycroft was married to Dallas insurance agent Tye Strickland less than a year after the Bachelor debacle aired, and she landed gigs hosting Bachelor Pad and contributing to Good Morning America."

Aside from the aforementioned contestants, there will be a 13 contestant, which viewers can choose from DWTS alumni Carson Kressley, Sabrina Bryan or Kyle Massey. If you want to cast your vote, go here.

Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars will premiere at 7 p.m. Sept. 24 on WFAA/Channel 8.
