The National Association of Broadcasters has announced the nominees for the annual Marconi Awards, which honor excellence in broadcasting. This comes via AllAccess.com, and you can read its report on the full list of nominees here, but these are the nominees from DFW:
Contemporary Christian KLTY/94.9 FM was nominated for Religious Station of the Year. KLTY is a frequent nominee in the category and won the award in 2009.
KMVK/107.5 FM "Mega" received a nomination for Spanish Station of the Year. This is the station's first nomination, but morning personality Edgar "Shoboy" Sotelo was named Spanish Format Personality of the Year in the 2011 awards. (Sotelo will be the host of this year's awards dinner.)
KTCK/1310 AM "The Ticket" was nominated for Sports Station of the Year. The station won the award in 2007.
The awards will be announced in September, during this year's NAB Radio Show, which will take place Sept. 19-21 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas.
