In just a few weeks (Aug. 10, to be precise, at Magnolia Motor Lounge with Quaker City Night Hawks and the Apache 5), Fort Worth troubadour nonpareil Kevin Aldridge will pull the wraps off his long-awaited solo album, The Viper Sessions. In the run-up to the release, however, Aldridge has kept busy gigging at several area venues, and on Thursday, he'll take the stage at Lola's Saloon. Aldridge and his crack band, the Appraisers, are sandwiched between Fort Worth's Swindle Boys (which released its debut, One and Three, in March) and Weatherford's Walker and the Texas Dangers (supporting last year's effort, Pay the Fiddler). Music gets going at 10 p.m. Cover is a cool $5 for over-21s, $9 for under-21s.
"Experimental progressive" Fort Worth foursome the Cleanup will celebrate the release of its new EP Friday at the Grotto. Joined by fellow locals Mailman and Austin's Look Mexico, the music will kick off at 10 p.m. This 21-and-up show costs a mere $5 to attend.
