On the eve of tomorrow's Willie Nelson Picnic, Billy Bob's Texas today announced another big event set to take over the Stockyards in September.
The inaugural Stockyards Music Festival is set for Sept. 2 in the North Forty, and will feature performances from Hank Williams Jr., Pat Green, Merle Haggard, Shooter Jennings, David Allan Coe, Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights, Whiskey Myers, Cody Johnson and the Turnpike Troubadours (more acts TBA).
Press materials stress the fest "will feature several places for patrons to escape the sun, including VIP spaces, skyboxes and 'Cool Zones'." The SMF will kick off at 12 p.m. Sept. 2 and run through 11 p.m., featuring two stages. The fest is being produced by Billy Bob's Texas in conjunction with Encore Live, a Fort Worth-based production company.
General admission tickets are $35 in advance, $45 at the gate. If you're after a VIP experience, you can pay $110, or shell out $250 for a skybox, which includes "special service, prizes and more," according to press materials. Tickets for the event go on sale July 9 at the Billy Bob's box office or via the venue's website. For more info on the Stockyards Music Festival, visit its website.
