Usually, because of Todrick Hall's local connection (he's a former Arlington resident), we're among the first to post one of the former American Idol contestant's many YouTube flash-mob videos (like when he sang for his supper at Chipotle or when he did
Hall's latest, however, caught fire before we got to it. It's an elaborate, funny and completely politically incorrect "ghetto" parody of Beauty and the Beast titled Beauty and the Beat. It's got well over 2.7 million views on YouTube, and it's caught the attention of such websites as Tosh.0, The Huffington Post and Gawker, which points out that a couple of its stars, Katie Stevens and Vonzell Solomon, are also Idol alumni, and the rest are YouTube stars like Hall.
And yes, in case you missed the "politically incorrect" stuff above, it has the potential to offend. But it's surprisingly well-produced, -sung and -written. We hope to have some comment from Hall to add to this later, but for now, brace yourself for Beauty and the Beat.
