Since it is a Monday evening after Father's Day, it is likely that you do not have any major plans other than relaxing following a weekend of hitting the lake or perhaps watching the U.S. Open with your dad. Go ahead and scratch that because under the "This Just In" category, House of Blues in Dallas announced late Sunday night (roughly 10:45 p.m.) that comedian Dave Chappelle would be performing tonight -- that's right Monday June 18 -- at 9 p.m.
Many fans will recall his hit Comedy Central sketch show Chappelle's Show where he walked away from a $50 million contract after the third season. In a testament to his popularity, he had a similar occurrence last week in Memphis where he sold out the 2,500 seat Orpheum theater within hours of his short notice performance. The next evening he sold out a show in Little Rock in the same fashion.
DFW fans of Chappelle that are 18 and up can experience the show and purchase advance tickets for $52 by visiting here.
UPDATE: As of noon, the Chappelle show is already SOLD OUT! If you are a huge fan and want a chance to enjoy this rare sighting, you can check out the secondary market StubHub where tickets are available from $130 to sit in the upper balcony to -- you are reading this correctly-- $499 to get on the floor.
